ABOUT

Moberly is a community cultural hub located in South East Vancouver at 60th and Prince Albert. (2 blocks East of Fraser at 60th). It is a dedicated facility for the development and delivery of the arts in everyday life: an objective aligned with the mandate and vision in the Vancouver Board of Parks, Recreation and Culture’s Arts Policy.

Opening individuals to an art experience is an integral part of any healthy, inclusive community. MACC works with artists to empower community to be creative through all arts disciplines. At MACC, we are excited to support projects that focus on nurturing the creative voices of all participants; building on their personal experiences and backgrounds to realize a collaborative creative outcome.

Principles guiding decisions on the programming of Moberly are:

Intercultural Connections

Cultural diversity is a fundamental aspect of Vancouver’s identity and a resource to be drawn on

Community Enrichment

Communities which work and celebrate together are more resilient and supportive of all members

Creativity

The inherent human capacity of creativity promotes well-being and generates innovative thinking and action

Flexibility

Practices and policies which are flexible enable a wide range of creative ideas

Participation

Participation enhances the growth of the individual and empowers communities to determine their own priorities

Acknowledgement of the value of the artist

Artists, as key contributors to community life, must be recognized and recompensed for their work.
