Chinese New Year Dance & Cake Demonstration
Learn the history, customs, and tradition behind the celebration of the Chinese New Year Festival. Instructor Jessica Yue will first perform Chinese fan, ribbon, handkerchief, and drum classic dances, doing some basic dance moves with participants. Jessica will then show participants how you how to make sesame balls or baked ricecake, also known as “New Year Cake”.

Stone Soup is a community-focused project that will create a feast of stories and food. Each month there will be guest artists, cooking lessons led by guest chefs and the participants, building up to a grand feast open to everyone.
