Chinese New Year Dance & Cake Demonstration

Learn the history, customs, and tradition behind the celebration of the Chinese New Year Festival. Instructor Jessica Yue will first perform Chinese fan, ribbon, handkerchief, and drum classic dances, doing some basic dance moves with participants. Jessica will then show participants how you how to make sesame balls or baked ricecake, also known as “New Year Cake”.

Campers will be divided into groups that will create a play or puppet show from scratch, as we will write the script, rehearse, and present.
