Bhangra is an excellent way for kids and teens to learn movement, rhythm, dance and culture. This class gives students an opportunity to participate in a fun and exciting learning environment that not only helps with their exercise and physical activity, but also contributes to an enriching cultural experience, regardless of their background. Children can embody the true art form of Bhangra through a fusion of music and self-expression that will lead to high spirits and continual involvement in a growing community. A Perfect class for the middle of the week to get you moving, grooving, and recharged! Energetic music, dance, exercise and choreography makes this class a favourite among students of all ages. During this session, classes will be a building on a routine every week, and collaboratively working on designing costumes and properties to be incorporated into their performance. Science has noted that incense purifies the air helping our bodies to stay healthy and avoiding pathogens. There are many common plants that grow in our gardens that are rich in aromatics and are great for incense. Use aromatic plants that you have direct relationships with is an empowering way to enjoy the gifts of plants. The Family Meals Program is drop in program for parents and caregivers with young children. The program offers parents/caregivers the opportunity to connect with other new parents in the community, share a meal, share experiences and find out more about resources and supports in the community. It also offers children the opportunity to meet, play and socialize with other children. An Early Childhood Educator is present during the program to facilitate story time, games and crafts, sing-a-longs and other age appropriate activities.
