Moberly Arts and Cultural Centre (MACC) is looking for proposals from artists and groups interested in using our studio space during evening and weekend hours throughout the summer months. In exchange for free space to research, create and rehearse, MACC requires that artists offer a community engagement component to their proposal. This could take the form of open rehearsals, a dialogue series, free workshops, free performances or any other opportunity for the neighbourhood to be involved in your artistic process.
This call is open to both emerging and established artists and groups working in any performing art discipline including traditional, cultural and contemporary practices. Please note there is no artist fee or tech provided for this residency and class activities are not eligible. Due to limited space, we are not able to accommodate all proposals.
If you have a creative project that could benefit from the use of our space and that can engage the South Vancouver community please send a brief proposal (1 page max) to Oliver McTavish-Wisden at oliver.mctavish-wisden@vancouver.ca, including:
- Your name/group
- Daytime phone number
- Email address
- Your artistic discipline
- A statement about your project and what you need the space for
- A statement about what you’d like to offer the community
Deadline: Sunday May 27, 2018
