The Moberly Arts & Cultural Centre is seeking a professional writer or poet with a community-engaged practice to develop a creative writing project with seniors and Elders in South Vancouver.
This call is open to both emerging and established writers with an interest in the intersection of community-engaged/social practice and the literary arts. The successful applicant will plan and lead a project that involves community participants in a collaborative writing practice that builds participants’ knowledge of literary arts and encourages exploration, expression and community connection. MACC has a small, established seniors’ group of writers and storytellers to build on.
Project timeline: 30 workshops between October 11, 2022 and June 13, 2023 (approx. 40 hours of workshop time total)
Artist Fee: $3,000
